ISEM 2009 Conference Ecological Modelling for Enhanced Sustainability in Management Tuesday, October 6 - Friday, October 9, 2009 Laval University Quebec City, PQ, Canada

We are witness to an accelerating rate of interaction between civilization and nature on this planet. In spite of diligent efforts to understand and manage populations and  ecosystems, the fact is that the list of endangered species is increasing while natural habitat is shrinking. Recent advances in modelling ecosystems and, in particular, socio-ecological interactions, provide the potential to achieve a more harmonious relationship between humans and the biosphere. The aim of this conference is to provide a forum for scientists from around the world to exchange ideas, theories, concepts, methodologies, and results from ecological modelling that address these important issues. The official  language of the conference is English.
